Asad Zanzibar Lattafa perfume

Lattafa Asad Zanzibar is a bold and refreshing fragrance with a perfect balance of spicy, sweet, and woody notes. It gives a modern and luxurious feel, making it a great choice for men who like strong and attractive perfumes.

I have come across Asad Zanzibar from the esteemed Lattafa which has become one of the most celebrated Emirati houses in the region thanks to their attractive prices, paired with luxurious packaging and irresistibly high-quality blends. Our guest of honor today, Asad Zanzibar, is on its way to becoming one of the most highlighted releases by the brand, so I want to take you on a sensory journey through the isolated, sunny island of Zanzibar.

Asad Zanzibar Review:

The original Asad, which translates to lion in Arabic, was first released in 2021. It was initially perceived as an impeccable dupe for the famed Sauvage Elixir, and I couldn’t agree more, but that’s another story for another article.

While Asad was an aromatic, woody fragrance that boasts some irresistible masculine and barbershop vibes, 2024’s Asad Zanzibar wholeheartedly deviates from the original’s DNA and almost feels like a standalone release. Regarding its namesake, Zanzibar is a beautiful island which is located near Tanzania. Their economy depends on the production of spices, raffia, and tourism, spices such as clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, Coconut, and black pepper, which explains the name, Zanzibar.

Asad Zanzibar notes:

Top notes: Lavender and Black Pepper

Middle notes: Coconut Water, Iris, and Salt

Base notes: Vanilla and Incense

The Scent:

The fragrance opens with a fresh and slightly spicy aroma that feels energetic and clean. As it settles, sweet and warm notes become more noticeable, creating a rich and elegant scent. The dry down is woody, smooth, and very appealing.

Before you decide on this one, reading the notes won’t help since the scent is radically different from the notes’ breakdown. It starts with a juicy, irresistible blast of super sweet pineapple accord that is just joyful and uplifting. I know that pineapple isn’t in the note listing, but I think this is the result of fusing lavender, salt, and coconut. I was smitten, to say the least! It’s not feminine by any means; it’s the irresistible and powdery, albeit juicy pineapple that holds it together while maintaining the masculinity of the composition.

As time passes by, the perfume unveils subtle hints of coconut that are tightly interlaced with some iris that bring forward a powdery dimension to the blend. After it had settled completely, in an hour or so, it gave off some comforting and soft powdery vibes. The sweetness was curbed to a great extent now that hints of incense started to peek through from afar, which were not overwhelming at all. Asad Zanzibar can be considered linear, and that’s not a bad thing if you ask me.

Performance

Asad Zanzibar offers strong performance with around 6–10 hours of longevity and good projection. It is suitable for daily wear, evening outings, and special occasions.

In terms of longevity, this fragrance is a powerhouse! It lasts for up to 2 days on fabrics and up to 6 hours on skin, give or take. Moreover, it projects insanely for 3 hours, giving off gentle, yet pretty detectible, whiffs for almost 10-12 hours! I could not stop sniffing myself and was not even bothered to smell manly for the rest of the day! It is that good!

As far as the intended demographic, I can safely say that anyone can wear Asad Zanzibar, but if you’re a young gentleman aged between 20 and late 30s, you’ll be particularly excited about it because it has that youthful vibe, unlike the original Asad that feels more mature compared to this rendition
